So is this how we rehabilitate and detained lawbreakers in the Philippines now? I am pretty sure that some human rights was violated in the making of this video but that thought took second seat. I would bet the prisoners didn’t know they would be put on a video and made asses all over the world. Who would care, these are criminals anyway. Let me ask you, so how does this help the rehabilitation prisoners? I know, I know, you’d give me that crap that the prisoners are less violent doing this. Thats total BS.

mangz: Human rights abuse? Oh I don’t know about that. Seems to me that they’re getting some cardio benefits out of those dance routines. C’mon man, they are dancing not being sexually harassed or anything approaching Abu Ghraib-esque treatment. I don’t dance but I don’t think people who dance are making “asses of themselves”. It’s just an activity. Kids do it in schools in large groups. People dance on tv everyday. I don’t give a flying fsck if a politician gets credit for it or not. I see nothing wrong with it. Did you see a whip somewhere in the vid? Lighten up.

Good to see you got your blog back :) Busy with life. Regards to the ninjas at #support-ph.

  3. How does this help rehabilitating the prisoners?

i was there personally and had the chance to interview some of the inmates…

The 1,600 Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation (CPDRC) Inmates proved that discipline isn’t something to be imposed but learned. That penology does not necessarily mean that of a confined sick society but a society of ‘human beings’ that are also physically fit, unified and disciplined.

The governor was a proud mother of this inmates as she expressed her immeasurable happiness of finally seeing “rehabilitation” into the hearts of the inmates.

Nilo Quirante, Assistant Chairman of the Inmates, expressed his gratefulness for the Garcia family for making them popular. And in behalf of all the inmates he said that when they could get our of

Chrisanto Neri, the star dancer of Thriller, said, “wala nay lugar para mangitag away kay magPractice na lang mi.”

He said that they practiced 3 hours a day whenever it isn’t visiting hours.

What Byron had done is something the penologies all over the world should also look into…

There was no human rights abuse for the dancers were informed on how the public embraced their routines…
